Joey and Rory

Now we are going to discuss one of the newest country music duos, Joey and Rory.   The duo is compromised of Rory Lee Feek and Joey Martin Feek.  Joey and Rory are husband and wife with Joey as the lead vocalist and Rory sings backup and plays the guitar.  Before the duo formed, Rory worked as a songwriter and since the formation, Rory continues to write.  Also before the group’s formation, Joey recorded her own solo album in 2005.  Rory also recorded his own solo album in 2005 too.  Then in 2008 Joey and Rory formed their group and performed on CMT’s Can You Duet, where they placed third.  After this the duo recorded their first album together called The Life of a Song.  The album made it to number 10 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.  From this album can their first released single, "Cheater, Cheater", which the song made it to number 30 on the U.S. Country charts.  The duo did release another album in 2010 and made it to number 9 in Billboard Top Country Album chart.  They has also released three more singles, though none of them made it to the top country single charts.  The last song they released was "This Song’s for You" in 2010. 

The duo has been nominated for many awards in their short career.  Joey and Rory actually won an award in 2009, the Academy of Country Music Award’s Top New Vocal Duo of the Year.  The group has been nominated seven other times for duo awards.  I did the like duo’s first single and think that it would be fun to watch them perform in person some time.  I cannot wait to see what Joey and Rory will come out with in the future.
