Lonestar

Today we are going to talk about the Lonestar.  Lonestar is a country music group consisting of Cody Collins, Michael Britt, Keech Rainwater, Dean Sams, and Michael Hill.  For the group, Collins sings the lead vocals and plays the acoustic guitar, Britt plays lead guitar and sings background vocals, Rainwater plays the drums, Sams plays the keyboards and sings background vocals, and Hill plays the bass guitar.  The group did not always have Collins as the lead singer, the original lead singer was Richie McDonald and he left the group for a solo career.  There were also other group members who left, John Rich was the group’s original bass guitarist.  Rich was fired from the group and tried out a solo career for a while before joining with Big Kenny.

Lonestar formed formed in 1992.  The band was originally named Texassee, which was formed from the members native state of Texas and how they had met in Nashville, Tennessee.  By the time the band played their first concert, they had changed their name to Lonestar.  They played their first concert in 1993 and signed to record an album in 1995.

The group has released many albums in their career.  Their first album is Lonestar released in 1995, and went to number 11 on the U.S. Country charts.  Then they have released 14 more albums.  The last album that the group released was Party Heard Around the World, released in 2010 and went to number 20 in the country charts.

The group has also released many singles to the radio.  Lonestar’s first single to be released was "Tequila Talkin’" in 1995 and went to number 8 on the U.S. Country charts.  The group’s first number one single was "No News" in 1996.  Since then, the group has had 8 number one singles.  The last single Lonestar has released to radio was "You’re the Reason Why" in 2010.

I do like the music that Lonestar has come out with, but I have not seen them in concert as of yet.  But if given the chance, I would like to see how well the group performs.
