15 Things I learned about Internet Business

I learned many things this year while taking this class that allowed taught me about e-business.  This class has led me to creating this blog and a website to go with it and also allowed me to learn more about something that I love.

Here are some of things that I learned:

how to write a blog
how to put advertisements on to the blog pages
how to get people interested in my blog
how to set-up a website
how to put interesting information on a website
how to put advertisements on to a website
how to submit my website to search directories
how to create my own products
that you need to write some articles so people know you are knowledgeable about your site content
the different types of blogs that make a site interesting and gives out more information
that if you put links from other websites in your niche could help you gain traffic to your page
how to put Amazon products on your page
finding that you get a percentage from people clicking on your Amazon products
that publishing articles to an ezine helps gain traffic and creditability to your web page
how to add different types of page counters to your website

Now you can see just some of the information that I learned this year putting together an e-business.  And hopefully I sparked your interest to maybe start one for yourself.

Country Music Duets

Now we are going to talk about the different country duets.  There have been many different singers come together to do a duet.  Some have been other country singers whether they are current or older and some have been pop musicians.

First we will talk about the country singer duets with other country singers.  The first singer has put together a CD of just duets she did with other singers.  That singer is Reba McEntire.  Her CD Reba: Duets was made up just of duets that she did with other singers like Kenny Chesney and Brooks & Dunn.  Another singer is Garth Brooks and on “Beer Run“, he sang with George Jones.  The last country singers duet that we discus is Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.  They have done many duets, mostly because they are husband and wife, but the duets they have done are beautiful.  Those two has good charisma to sing together.

Next, we will discus the country singers that duet with pop musicians.  First, one of Jason Aldean’s new singles,”Don’t You Wanna Stay”, is a duet with Kelly Clarkson.  This song is a very beautiful being sung with those two; it is a very great combination of vocals.  Then there is a duet that Tim McGraw did with Nellie on the song “Over and Over Again”.  This is a good song that was very popular at the time that it was released.  Lastly, Kenny Chesney has done a few duets with Uncle Kracker.  These two have teamed up many times to record great songs together that become rather popular on the radio.  They are most known for “When the Sun Goes Down”.

So now you know a little information about different types of duets that are performed by country singers.  I hope that you that you take the time to listen and enjoy some of the great duets that have been released so far.

Different Country Music Programs on Radio

Today we are going to discuss the different nationwide country music programs that are aired on the radio.  There are many different types of shows.  For example, there are countdowns, a show that lets you listen to the music live from the country musician’s concerts, and just plain playing country music, call in your request shows.

The first type of country shows we are going to talk about are the countdowns.  The first countdown show is the American Country Countdown with Kix Brooks.  This show is hosted by Brooks & Dunn’s Kix Brooks.   Kix started doing this show a couple of years ago.  Every week he counts down the hit singles out on the radio, along with chatting with the country stars.  The next countdown show on the radio is Bob Kingsley’s Country Top 40.  Bob has been hosting this show for four years.  The show counts down the top 40 hits in country music and of course Bob talks to the country stars about their music.  He also takes some requests from listeners to play a song that has some meaning to them.  The next countdown show is Country Countdown USA with Lon Helton.  This show is hosted by Lon Helton and every week he has a different country artist helping him countdown the week’s hottest hits.  Lon also talks to various country stars about their music and concerts.

The next type of national radio show is The Road.  This is about going to a country musician’s concert to hear what their music sounds like live.  They move to many different artists in one show, that way the country fans that can’t make it to the concerts are able to hear what their music sounds like live.

The last type of show is the request shows that mostly play music.  The first show is the Bo Reynolds Show.  This show is hosted by Bo Reynolds and he has been on the radio for over 25 years.  On this show, Bo talks to different country artists, has many contests and has live requests over the air.  He also plays many other songs while on air for four to six hours.  The next show is The Big Time with Whitney Allen.  This is another show request show that is on every night.  The host is Whitney Allen and she talks about what is happening in country music.  She does take requests and has many contests.  The last show I am going to tell you about is After Midnite.  This show is hosted by Blair Garner and he plays music for the people that are up after midnight.  He takes requests and does contests for the people still listening to him.

So now you have heard about a few of the shows on the radio and can decide what you want to hear.  I hope you will enjoy.

Kenny Chesney

Today I am going to tell you about another artist because I promised my roommate that I would do her absolute favorite country musician.  This artist is Kenny Chesney.  Kenny was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on March 26, 1968.  His parents were an elementary school teacher and a hair stylist and he had a younger sister.  Chesney graduated from high school in 1986, where he played baseball and football.  That year, he received his first guitar for Christmas and taught himself to play it.  After high school, Kenny went to East Tennessee State University where he majored in marketing.  In 1989, he recorded a demo album, which sold a 1,000 copied while he was performing at local clubs in Johnson City.  With the money he made, Kenny bought himself a new guitar.  In 1990, Chesney graduated with a degree in advertising and then moved to Nashville to perform at some of the local clubs.  In 1992, Kenny had an audition with Opryland Music Group and came out with a songwriter’s contract.  The next year he won a contract to release his first studio recorded album.  Since Kenny Chesney hit it big, he bought a yacht and a home in the U.S. Virgin Islands, where he spends much of his time.  In 2005, Chesney married Renee Zellweger and fourth months later the marriage was annulled.  He also started his own radio station in 2008, No Shoes Radio.  He has his favorite music along with some of his songs.

Now I suppose it is time to tell you a little about Kenny Chesney’s albums.  He has released sixteen albums, with his first being In My Wildest Dreams released in 1994.  Kenny’s first album that hit number one in the charts was the 2002 released No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problem.  Since then, all the albums that he has released have gone to number one on the charts, with many of them going many times Platinum.  Chesney’s latest released album was Hemingway’s Whiskey which was released this last September.

Next, I am going to tell you about Kenny Chesney’s many singles that he has released to the radio.  His first released single was “Somebody’s Callin’” that was released in 1993 and did not make it to the charts.  Kenny’s first number one single on the charts is “She’s Got It All” and was released in 1997.  Since then, Chesney has had 17 number one singles, with his last being “Boys of Fall”.  His latest release single on the radio is “Somewhere With You”.

Kenny Chesney has had 10 tours where he was the headlining act and his tenth tour took place last summer, with it being only a few shows.  Next summer he is planning a new tour and so far has only announced engagements at specific stadiums.

Kenny Chesney has won many awards with his first award being the ACM New Male Vocalist of the Year in 1997.  He won his first Entertainer of the Year award with the CMAs in 2004.  Since then, he has won the prestigious award seven times through many different awards shows.

I hope that after reading this blog you see that Kenny Chesney has accomplished a lot in his career so far and he is still going strong.  It took him 20 years to take a break, which turned out to not be much of a break at all and I look for him to go another 20 years.  He will have many hits and awesome concerts, so keep your eyes and ears peeled for what he will throw out there.

Cmsuperfan.webs.com

Today I am going to tell you about my website.  I have made a website to go along with this blog for a project for one of my classes at ISU.  The website is at cmsuperfan.webs.com and is about all country music.
On the homepage of this website, there are many different things going on.  First, there is a statement of what the website pertains to.  Under that, I have placed four music videos that pertain to me in some way.  The first video is Brad Paisley’s “Online”, because this is one of my favorite videos from my favorite artist.  The best part of this video is at the end when the “mom” says, “Marching music makes me HOT!”  Every time I hear that or even just hear the song, I think of this quote and laugh.  The next video is Kenny Chensey’s You Save Me, because this is one of my roommate’s favorite videos by her favorite country artist.  When I say that, I mean LOVE him, because you should see her wall.  It is plastered with Kenny Chesney pictures, but this is becoming beyond the point.  The next video is Miranda Lambert’s “The House That Built Me”, because this was a big video when it first came out.  Also the video is a rather emotional that many people have come to love.  The last video is Sugarland’s “Stuck Like Glue”, because this is a big video and song now.  The video is rather funny too.  Also on my homepage are some links to various artist websites.  I did this so you could have an easy place to find out what is happening with your favorite artist.  If I do not have your favorite artist there and you think that I should just leave me a message and I will work hard to put on the page.
From my homepage, you can click on the different pages of my website.  I have a page that is dedicated to some articles that I have written about country music.  Three of the articles talk about the different themes that many of the country songs fit into; there is an article about how to go to a concert, where I walk you through the whole process of going to a concert.  There is also a review about a concert that I have been to, along with a review of the magazine and ezine, Country Weekly.
The next page you can go to is the Links page, where you can click on a link to 20 different websites dedicated to country music.  Then, you could click on the Photos page, where I have put up my pictures from the different concerts that I have gone to in the past couple of years.  There is also a member’s page where you are able to see or become a member. There is a page that is dedicated to donations, if anyone would be willing to make a donation to keep the website going.  Then we have the about me page, the contact me page, the purpose page, and privacy policy page.  The about me page gives you a little idea of who I am and what I know about country music.  The contact me page is for anyone who wants to give me some information or wants to ask me a question about country music.  The purpose and privacy policy page are there to let you know why I have the website and what you can do on my website.
The last page that I have on my website is a recommended products page.  Here is where I have made some suggestions about artist’s albums to buy, place where you can see what products I have made, and other products that I think any country fan would like.  Now you know about my website in a nutshell, so I expect you to drop by and check it out.  Let me know if I should put something else on my website to make it more fun for the rest of the country fans.

Gwyneth Paltrow Performs at the CMAs

How many people watched the CMA Awards on November 10?  Did everyone see Gwyneth Paltrow perform her new song from the movie Country Strong that is supposed to turn her into a country singer?  Here are few links that you might like to read before finishing my blog article or to read later for more information.
I was watching the awards show when Paltrow came on the stage to perform.  I have heard that she was performing earlier in the night as I was watching the “black” carpet entrances.  When they stated that Paltrow was going to perform, I was taken aback.  When I think of her, I do not see a country singer.  I cannot remember what she use to sing but I know it wasn’t country and have to admit that I did not have high hopes for her performance that night.
All through out the show, I was thinking that the performance by Paltow was not going to sound very country at all.  But then, right before the biggest award of the night, Gwyneth performed her song from the new movie with Tim McGraw, Country Strong.  After listening to the song, I was impressed at how she made the song country.  That in its self make me excited the see the movie, Country Strong.  I wanted to see the movie before, but now I want to see it even more, especially since on that night I found out it comes out on my birthday.  I am anxious to hear the other music for the movie, because many of the other movies that Tim McGraw has starred in has had excellent music.

Making a Number One Song

Have you ever wondered how a country song becomes number one?  I know from personal experience that I never knew how it was done until about a year ago.  Today we are going to talk about how you as a country fan can make your favorite song number one on the country charts.
I have discovered that if you want your favorite country song to become number one and hear it all the time on the radio, the process is very simple.  The very first thing that you must do is determine what new songs that are out that you really enjoy.  I suggest that you try and listen to the song three or four times to determine if you really like the song and if it would be a hit.
The next thing you would need to do is to call into the country radio stations in your area and request that they play that song.  You can also spread the word to your friends and ask them to call in and request the song.  It would also help calling into some of the nationwide radio shows that are played on your radio station to give the song more publicity and allows the whole country to hear the song numerous times, to become more attached to the song.  The more requests to play a song and the sooner and faster the song will rise in the charts and if it has enough requests, will become number one.  From what I have come to understand, a song becomes number one through fan request of the song, so support your favorite songs and singers and request the song today.

CMA Performances

Since I told you the about who won the awards at the CMAs, it is time to let you know who performed at the award show. They started the show off with Carrie Underwood singing “Songs like This” and Keith Urban and Brad Paisley playing instrumentals. This song was really fun with the guys playing the backups for Carrie and I loved Keith Urban on the banjo. After first award Leighton Meester from the movie Country Strong welcomed Taylor Swift to the stage to perform “Back to December”. This song was neat because Taylor stayed and played piano the whole time she was singing the song and it was snowing on the stage. Then, Miranda Lambert came out to sing the fun upbeat song “That’s the Way That the World Goes ‘Round”. This was a good song to sing after Taylor’s song since it was so upbeat and fast. The crowd at the award show seems to enjoy it too. Now it was time for Blake Shelton to sing his song “All About Tonight” which was fun to hear and to see Blake back in his country looking clothes instead of the suit he was wearing to come into the show. Then Keith Urban came on stage to sing “ Put You In a Song”, which was a pretty good song, considering that I do not like Keith Urban’s music very much lately.

We came to the part of the show, where King George (George Strait) came on stage to sing his newest song “The Breath You Take”, which I enjoyed immensely because it was a beautiful song. Now to come to the stage is my roommate’s favorite singer Kenny Chesney with his latest hit “Boys of Fall” which was fun because they included part of his music video in the performance. Then came Zac Brown Band and Alan Jackson performing “As She’s Walking Away”, which is a song that I have come to love because it is so beautiful. Then was the weird portion of the performances. Sugarland was performing their current single “Stuck Like Glue”, but they came out on stage Nettles was wearing what looked like a tutu and was stuck on a stand. But as the song progress, Nettles came off the stand and finished the song. Everyone was happy with the song though some were sad she didn’t have on the one piece jumpsuit.

Then we have Reba McEntire that came out and sing Beyonce’s “If I Were a Boy”, which I thought was really weird for a country singer to sing and even weirder for Reba to sing because to me she is just older country. Next was Kid Rock singing “Born Free”, which was in Kid Rock’s crazy style but good. After Kid Rock, it was time for the host Brad Paisley to sing his song “This is Country Music”, which was a beautiful song. Next Rascal Flatts came to the stage to sing “Why Wait”, which was their latest single on the radio and it sounded rather really good. Then The Band Perry sang “If I Die Young” as the show was going to break and announcing who won the awards for the radio stations.

Then Lady Antebellum came to the stage to sing “Hello, World”, which was a beautiful and powerful song. Dierks Bentley sang his latest single “Up On the Ridge”, which was a fun upbeat song. Next was Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson singing a duet on the song “Don’t You Wanna Stay”, which is on Jason’s latest album. Then before presenting the Female Vocalist of the Year award, Sissy Spacek, actress in the film Coal Miner’s Daughter welcomed Miranda Lambert, Sheryl Crow to the stage to sing “Coal Miner’s Daughter”, and near the end of the song Loretta Lynn came out to finish the songs with the ladies. It was a beautiful sight to see and hear. Then before the award for Male Vocalist of the Year, the host Carrie Underwood came out to sing her latest single “Mama’s Song”, which I love and hold true to my heart. The honor of the last song of the night went to Gwyneth Paltrow and Vince Gill singing “Country Strong”, which is from the new movie starring Tim McGraw and Gwyneth Paltrow and will be in theaters in January.

So now you know who won the awards and who performed at the CMAs and can start looking forward to the ACAs and the next year of country music.

CMA Results

How many of you watched the CMA on November 10?  Did you see the whole show or just some parts of it?  Well you are in luck because I am going to run down the show for you.  I watched the CMA with my roommate, Annie, and a couple other people from our floor, because we were holding an awards show party.
We started the night by watching a Robin Roberts special about Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, and Lee Ann Rimes on CMT.  Then we watched the “black” carpet on CMT and GAC online.  It was a “black” carpet because the whole thing was sponsored by Jack Daniels.  On the carpet, the stars arrived and were signing a 2011 Chevy Camaro, which will be donated to the Wounded War Project by Chevrolet.
Then it was award show time.  The show started off with a funny skit by the hosts, Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood.  Then they started presenting the awards.

The first award that was presented for the night was Single of the Year.  The presenters were LeAnn Rimes and Ty Pennington and the winner was Lady Antebellum with “Need You Now”.  The next award was New Artist of the Year that was presented by Darius Rucker.  The winner was of New Artist of the Year was the Zac Brown Band, which many people that I have talked to thought that it was weird because they are not really that new.  Now it was time to present the Song of the Year, which was presented by Kelli Pickler and Luke Bryan and the winner was Miranda Lambert with “The House That Built Me”.  Then they awarded Album of the Year.  The presenters were the group Little Big Town and the winner was Miranda Lambert’s Revolution.  It became time to present the Vocal Group of the Year award with the presented being Sara Evans, Chris Young, and Easton Corbin.  The winner of the award was Lady Antebellum.  Then we came to the Vocal Duo of the Year Award that was presented by Jeff Gordon and Joanna Garcia and went to Sugarland, which was a surprise to most because they thought that Brooks and Dunn would receive the honor with it being their last award show.

We finally came to the more prestigious awards of the night.  First was the Male Vocalist of the Year, which was presented by Martina McBride and the winner was Blake Shelton.  It was Shelton’s first time for winning the award and many people were surprised, but loved the decision.  Then, came the Female Vocalist of the Year which was presented by a past winner, Loretta Lynn.  The winner was Miranda Lambert, who was another first time winner and proved to be a big winner for engaged couple.  The biggest award of the night, Entertainer of the Year, was presented by another past winner.  The award went to Brad Paisley, who also won that award for the first time.  I have to say that I was happily surprised and even more glad since Brad is my favorite singer.  That wraps up another awards show and it turned out to be a fun one.  In another blog soon, I will talk about the performers from that evening.
